The Path of Wellness.
The human body is a wonder beyond true comprehension. Did you know that the body replaces 98% of all it’s atoms in less than a year, your body makes a new stomach lining every 5 days, a new skin every month, a new liver every 6 weeks and a new skeleton every 3 months.
Your body is the best pharmacy on earth; you name it your body can make it in the right dose, at the right time, for the right organ.
Wellness is defined as “the state of optimal well being, not simply the absence of illness, but an improved quality of life resulting from enhanced physical, mental and spiritual health”.
We all want a state of wellness but until we understand how precious the human body truly is, we are not going to be very good at self care.
Your body is a temple it will automatically work towards maintaining optimal health unless you deprive it of the natural foods, water, exercise and harmonious environment it requires.
“Your body is a house you’ll live in all your life so keep it clean”.
Diets simply do not work, you cannot think of permanent weight loss in terms of weeks or even months. To lose weight safely and correctly requires a change in lifestyle and a couple of years of patient work.
If your food comes out of a drive thru window, a box or a can don’t eat it.
Sugar is the biggest detriment to our health today, it’s found in every single processed food you can think of. Why? Because it is addictive and this is how the food processing giants keep you coming back for more. Sugar triggers feel good receptors in your brain.
The problem is when we ingest sugar our pancreas produces insulin, insulin is the primary fat storing hormone in our bodies and is also the fuel that drives the growth of cancer.
Insulin is not only the critical culprit in our tendency to be overweight, an imbalance of the hormone has been linked to depression, afternoon lethargy, poor mental focus, hypertension, polycystic ovarian syndrome, erectile dysfunction, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and cancer.
Artificial sweeteners are even worse. Did you know the molecule sucralose which is found in many artificial sweeteners was invented as an insecticide. Aspartame contains methanol and methanol poison.
The dosage is so small, taking it over a number of years is like suicide in slow motion.
Look out for these ingredients in things like chewing gum, yogurt, sport health bars and of course diet soda.
