My name is Herold Souter, I’m a full time internet network marketer and coach. I have been involved in network marketing on and off for the past 10 years… I never saw any real success in this industry until I had the honor and privilege of working with a multi-millionaire internet network marketing coach who showed my how to build my business as solid as Fort Knox, this is my story…
Since I was a child I considered myself an entrepreneur, when I was 9 I used to build and repair bikes from spare parts. All the kids in the neighborhood knew where to come if they had a problem with their bikes.
Naturally I graduated to automobiles and always had a side business as well as a regular job.
Although I was always good with my hands, I instinctively knew you could make more money with your brain simply by leveraging your time. My problem was finding the right opportunity, I tried everything you could think of from 900 numbers to owning and operating my own auto repair shop and everything in between, including Network Marketing. Apart from the repair shop everything else was unsuccessful.
Although the auto repair business was booming, I hated it as my life no longer belonged to me I typically worked 12 hours a day, six days a week plus the stress of a conventional brick and mortar type business along with compliance with OSHA, the Fire Marshal and a whole slew of governmental agencies.
I gained weight to the point where my health was in jeopardy, I smoked more than 2 packs of cigarettes a day, I slept less than 5 hours each night. needless to say this lifestyle made me miserable, short tempered and generally difficult to get along with, ultimately it cost me my marriage.
A good friend of mine lent a book that changed my life, having read ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. I laid out a blue-print and designed my life the way I chose to live it. I simply decided I no longer wanted to live the way I had been living, sold the business and walked away. My friends thought I had lost my mind.
I actively sought out a home based business that was in alignment with my core beliefs as I saw little sense in marketing pills, potions and lotions with the get three people who will each get three people me type matrix. As a business professional I wanted something with a worthwhile compensation plan and was therefore only interested in what is known as a top tier network marketing opportunity.
After about six weeks of research and due diligence I made my decision and joined a company that not only met, but exceeded my criteria.
The marketing plan seemed simple enough, I created a list of 200 friends co-workers and family and immediately went to work calling and pitching them on my new business opportunity, most of them had no interest whatsoever and some were kind enough to hear me out and join me on the conference calls. I remember on one occasion I had invited a cousin of mine to one of the calls and she could be heard in the background snoring. I was so embarrassed.
I joined my local chamber of commerce, the rotary club and a couple of networking communities once again my results were very similar, mild to no interest at all. I bought 200 plastic corrugated signs and drove around at night with my ladder in the trunk, when I came to a major intersection I would nail one of my signs to one of the telephone poles, I lost count of the amount of times I hit my hand with the hammer keeping one eye on what I was doing and the other out for the cops.
I did get a lot of calls from this strategy, looking back I can see why… I mean who wouldn’t want to make 10k or more working from home! I really didn’t know what the heck I was doing because as long as you lasted all the way to the end of my little scripted interview without hanging up on me you qualified to go to one of my conference calls. Most of the time once the call was over I would end up talking to my self on a dead line and when I called them back I’d usually get their voice mail.
Down but not out I came up with yet another strategy, called my sponsor who put me in touch with the lead generation company most people in our team were using. Six long months and several thousand dollars later I was burnt out, broke and mad as hell, day in and day out I faithfully called these leads I purchased each month only the get yelled at, cursed out and hung up on. What were my results? Zilch, zip, nada…
At this point I started to question my own sanity, here I was a 46 year old ex – mechanic trying to get a J.O.B when automobile dealerships were going out of business all around me, I was running out of money and my daughters school tuition was due, there was absolutely no way I was going to have her pulled out of that school… I had to do something and do it fast!
I got back in touch with my sponsor and asked if I could contact other members of our team, she broadcast my email address and phone number to our team and 12 members actually did get in touch with me and to my horror not one of them was having any favorable results, some had already quit, others went over to some other opportunity thinking the grass would be greener elsewhere, most were not really actively marketing anymore.
My sponsor was averaging around $20,000 a month but either couldn’t or didn’t have the to teach her team how duplicate what she was doing as most of her time was spent recruiting… I was almost heart broken. One thing she did though was put me in touch with one of her mentors.
Once I met this young multi-millionaire mentor who took me under his wing and taught me what to do in a very logical sequence and made me get rid of all the garbage that had me spinning my wheels wasting time and money
I stopped purchasing leads and took full ownership of my business, I decided to stop actively marketing my business and spent my time and money learning not only how to recruit my own team but also how to train my team to duplicate my success I needed to either find a system that met my requirements or create it myself.
I purchased the ebooks and courses recommended by my mentor and learned how to market plugging into the awesome infinite power of the internet gaining the knowledge and experience that was absolutely essential to my success. The biggest boost for me was finding a totally generic marketing system that I could continue to learn from and plug my recruits into and tailor my very own marketing campaigns generating leads that pay for themselves! The rest as they say was history.
I now know why most people fail in this industry, it’s because they are being taught obsolete traditional old school techniques that simply do not work in this modern day 21st century internet environment. You don’t have to be one of them!
My goal is to help as many network marketers as I can to succeed by teaching the use of more relevant, up-to-date strategies that are more in-line with today’s internet and technology era. This is my way of paying it forward!
